POISON IVY SALVE (OINTMENT)
Soothing and calming for poison ivy and other irritating plant rashes. Using traditional plants known for their effectiveness, this thick balm is made with olive oil, beeswax, and fresh infusions of healing herbs, including jewelweed, sweet fern, comfrey, chickweed, St. Johnswort, calendula and Vitamin E. POISON IVY BODY LOTION
This creamy lotion is a cross between our salve and our cream; thinner, but designed to be applied to larger areas of the body affected by irritation. Best applied when skin is slightly moist after bathing or swimming. Our lotion is hand blended with fresh herbs and witch hazel, and lots of natural Vitamin E. Fragrance free, very soothing, and completely safe for children and infants. |

Washing off the irritating oils as soon as possible is essential in helping prevent the spread of poison ivy rash. Unfortunately, exposure often extends to the scalp area which is hard to treat with creams and lotions. We recommend this very gentle but effective anti-inflammation olive oil soap, cooked with large amounts of anti-itch and soothing plants. With jewelweed, sweet fern, comfrey and other soothing and healing plants. Completely natural and fragrance free. This remedy is also useful for other areas of the body which may be further irritated by soap; it will generally help speed healing and shorten the time of flare-ups. |

JEWELWEED & SWEET FERN ANTI-ITCH SPRAY
This was our newest addition to our Poison Ivy collection in the summer of 2000, and immediately became the most popular item in the collection! There is some anecdotal evidence from herbal research suggesting that applying certain parts of the jewelweed plant may help prevent an outbreak of poison ivy by binding with skin molecules before the poison ivy plant does. While this is still being actively researched, we do know that applying the spray after exposure does significantly reduce itching and irritation. Highly concentrated, our potent herbal infusion is a beautiful orange color from the jewelweed blossoms and also contains our special blend of witch hazel leaves and twigs, sweet fern, comfrey, calendula, burdock and other highly effective anti-itching plants infused in a commercial solution of witch hazel extract. It can be extremely cooling and drying - spray on as needed or dab on with a cotton ball. In severe cases, soak a washcloth in the solution and cover affected area. NOTE: Commercial witch hazel solution is 14% alcohol, and can potentially cause stinging to skin that has been overly scratched. Please be careful if your skin is broken or extremely irritated; in such cases, the salve may be the best choice until initial healing begins. |

COMING SOON : Loose tea blend for poison ivy - excellent for soaking feet and ankles or applying directly to relieve rashes. Helpful reminder: When spending time in the woods or garden, often times "antidote" herbs may be growing right near poisonous plants. It is very helpful to familiarize yourself with them as they can really come in handy if you need them! For example, there is often jewelweed growing at some stage near poison ivy patches, and you will frequently see beautiful leafy burdock spreading out near nettle hedges.
